106 Million Americans have started a new hobby ... Collecting the NEW Statehood
Quarters from Pocket Change
|
|
Millions of children and adults
are collecting the 50 STATEHOOD
QUARTERS ... Starting 1999 and going through 2008 the US Mint is celebrating
the 50 states by issuing new quarters. The standard design on the reverse
side of the Washington quarter is replaced with designs that
represent each of the 50 states. This was the first change to the quarter
in over 20 years.
The
new state quarters are being issued in the order that each state became
part of the United States, with 5 new state quarters to be released each
year. They will be minted in both Denver and Philadelphia, creating a
total of ten different quarters per year.
Parents and teachers have realized the
collecting these quarters is an excellent opportunity to teach children
about the geography, history, and heritage of each state. Interest in
a collection of the complete statehood set as well as in coin
collecting in general is growing rapidly.
Look in your pocket and start your collection of
these new quarters today. (Note: These products provide materials to start
or organize a coin collection, they do not contain coins. )
